The New York Mets, who won 101 regular-season games last season and now have the largest payroll in Major League Baseball, are set to open their season on Thursday night at the low-budget Miami Marlins. New York's payroll -- including luxury tax -- stands at $375.3 million, according to Spotrac.com, while Miami's payroll ranks 24th in the league at $110.2 million.
