Analysis: Murray's usage dropped significantly once the Vikings fell behind big in the first half and turned to third-down back Jerick McKinnon while in comeback mode. The former 1,000-yard rusher faces an uncertain offseason, as Minnesota can save over $5 million by releasing him but has McKinnon entering unrestricted free agency.
|Jan. 15, 2018 10:42 PM PT11:42 PM MT12:42 AM CT1:42 AM ET6:42 GMT14:42 11:42 PM MST1:42 AM EST12:42 AM CT10:42 UAE1:42 ETNaN: - Latavius Murray ran for 50 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries Sunday in the Minnesota Vikings' 29-24 win over the New Orleans Saints. He added two receptions for 17 yards.
Analysis: Murray was held mostly in check with just a 2.6 average yards per carry. He did, however, score a touchdown to give him four in four games. Murray has had between 19 and 21 attempts in four straight games so he'll likely be right around that same total next weekend in Philadelphia.
|Dec. 31, 2017 2:01 PM PT3:01 PM MT4:01 PM CT5:01 PM ET22:01 GMT6:01 3:01 PM MST5:01 PM EST4:01 PM CT2:01 UAE (+1)17:01 ETNaN: - Latavius Murray ran for 111 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries Sunday in the Minnesota Vikings' 23-10 win over the Chicago Bears. He added one reception for three yards.
Analysis: Murray notched his second-yard game of the season and first since Week 7. Over the past two years, only Ezekiel Elliott (22 for Dallas) has more rushing touchdowns in the NFL than Murray (20, including 12 for Oakland last season). Murray has been fairly effective as the lead back, so whether he shares time with Dalvin Cook in Minnesota next season or moves on, Murray should remain a viable fantasy consideration in 2018.

He added one reception for 28 yards.
Analysis: Aside from last week against Carolina, Murray has been pretty good. He's now rushed for 565 yards with six touchdowns over his last eight games. He has more value than Jerick McKinnon right now.

Jerrick McKinnon continues to take a big share of the carries, including 13 on Thursday, but he ran for only 23 yards and has averaged less than 3.5 yards per attempt in three straight games.
|Nov. 19, 2017 6:22 PM PT7:22 PM MT8:22 PM CT9:22 PM ET2:22 GMT10:22 7:22 PM MST9:22 PM EST8:22 PM CT6:22 UAE (+1)21:22 ETNaN: - Latavius Murray ran for 95 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries Sunday in the Minnesota Vikings' 24-7 win over the Los Angeles Rams. Analysis: Murray is a solid bench option in fantasy, but can't be counted on as a starter.
|Oct. 22, 2017 12:58 PM PT1:58 PM MT2:58 PM CT3:58 PM ET19:58 GMT3:58 12:58 PM MST2:58 PM EST2:58 PM CT23:58 UAE15:58 ETNaN: - Latavius Murray ran for 113 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries Sunday in the Minnesota Vikings' 24-16 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Analysis: Murray should be started in all formats at the moment.
|Oct. 15, 2017 1:41 PM PT2:41 PM MT3:41 PM CT4:41 PM ET20:41 GMT4:41 1:41 PM MST3:41 PM EST3:41 PM CT0:41 UAE (+1)16:41 ETNaN: - Latavius Murray ran for 28 yards on 15 carries Sunday in the Minnesota Vikings' 23-10 win over the Green Bay Packers. He added one reception for nine yards.
Analysis: Murray had plenty of opportunities against the Packers, but finished with a 1.9 average. His average of 2.4 yards per carry is the worst in the NFL among the 40 running backs with at least 40 attempts.
|Oct. 9, 2017 8:12 PM PT9:12 PM MT10:12 PM CT11:12 PM ET3:12 GMT11:12 8:12 PM MST10:12 PM EST10:12 PM CT7:12 UAE (+1)23:12 ETNaN: - Latavius Murray ran for 31 yards on 12 carries Monday in the Minnesota Vikings' 20-17 win over the Chicago Bears. He added two receptions for 12 yards.
Analysis: Murray earned his first start of the season in place of RB Dalvin Cook, who is out for the season with a torn ACL. Murray didn't impress and was easily outplayed by Jerick McKinnon.
|Oct. 2, 2017 8:49 AM PT9:49 AM MT10:49 AM CT11:49 AM ET15:49 GMT23:49 8:49 AM MST10:49 AM EST10:49 AM CT19:49 UAE11:49 ETNaN: - Murray will take over as the lead running back for Minnesota after Dalvin Cook tore the ACL in his left knee.
Analysis: With 354 yards, Cook is third in the NFL in rushing. He has two touchdowns, plus 11 receptions for 90 yards. Murray has 38 yards on 14 attempts.
|Oct. 1, 2017 12:44 PM PT1:44 PM MT2:44 PM CT3:44 PM ET19:44 GMT3:44 12:44 PM MST2:44 PM EST2:44 PM CT23:44 UAE15:44 ETNaN: - Latavius Murray ran for 21 yards on seven carries Sunday in the Minnesota Vikings' 14-7 loss to the Detroit Lions. He added two receptions for eight yards.

|Sep. 11, 2017 7:28 PM PT8:28 PM MT9:28 PM CT10:28 PM ET2:28 GMT10:28 7:28 PM MST9:28 PM EST9:28 PM CT6:28 UAE (+1)22:28 ETNaN: - Latavius Murray ran for six yards on two carries Monday in the Minnesota Vikings' 29-19 win over the New Orleans Saints.
Analysis: The offseason addition barely saw the field as Dalvin Cook dominated rushing attempts and Jerick McKinnon handled much of the third-down work. Murray may still be the Vikings' preferred option for goal-line carries, but that seems to be his lone avenue to fantasy relevance barring an injury to Cook.
|Aug. 7, 2017 11:56 AM PT12:56 PM MT1:56 PM CT2:56 PM ET18:56 GMT2:56 11:56 AM MST1:56 PM EST1:56 PM CT22:56 UAE14:56 ETNaN: - The Minnesota Vikings have activated running back Latavius Murray from the physically unable to perform list.
Analysis: The move on Monday cleared him to join the team on the field for the first time since signing as a free agent in March. Murray missed all of the offseason practices and the first 10 days of training camp while rehabbing his surgically repaired right ankle.
|July 24, 2017 9:09 AM PT10:09 AM MT11:09 AM CT12:09 PM ET16:09 GMT0:09 9:09 AM MST11:09 AM EST11:09 AM CT20:09 UAE12:09 ETNaN: - The Vikings have placed Murray on the physically unable to perform list on Monday as training camp got underway.

Murray spent the past four seasons playing for the Oakland Raiders before signing a three-year, $15 million deal -- $8.55 million guaranteed -- with Minnesota as a free agent. He missed all of spring drills following his March 22 ankle surgery.

Analysis: His arrival could signal the end of Adrian Peterson's time in Minnesota. Peterson is a free agent who visited last week with Seattle. Murray was a sixth-round draft pick of the Raiders out of Central Florida in 2013. He has rushed for 2,278 yards and 20 touchdowns. Murray made his first Pro Bowl in 2015.
